My name's Matt, and I discovered my love of woodworking in 2017 while I was still living in the city, trying to scrape a living as a musician. With a few budget hand tools and a stack of pallets as a workbench, I taught myself traditional woodworking joinery and techniques. Like guitar playing I fell in love with the attention to detail and creativity required, and I feel this is represented in the quality of my work.
Having grown up living on a nature reserve I have always
felt a strong connection with the countryside, and it is important to me that the wood I use is locally and sustainably sourced. I feel a real connection with every project I make and love to be able to tell the story of that piece’s
journey from tree to finished design.
In the late summer of 2024 I had the amazing opportunity to be part of BBC's, Make It At Market. I learnt so much from Dom Chinea, Bruce Kenneth and the other talented people involved and will always be grateful to the advice and confidence I gained from the experience.
Thank you for taking the time to view my website and supporting traditional crafts.
